Should I of studied my grammar better before starting a blog so I migh’tve not loosed so many of my readers?

Please do NOT adjust your computer. There are no typos in that headline, just terrible grammar. Here at ProBloggers Matrix, nothing is sacred. We’ll take NO prisoners and we’ll stop at nothing to grab your attention! Yes, my headline is simply ATROCIOUS, but you just HAD to click on it, didn’t cha? Although curiosity is what killed the cat, you were dying to read my article!! GOTCHA!!!

Now that I’ve got your attention, I’d like to take this opportunity to point out some grammar tips. I’ve seen these errors on a few blogs across the Web and I wanted to point them out.

We coulda, shoulda, woulda (could of, should of, would of).

This is wrong: I shoulda studied my grammar before starting a blog. This is also incorrect: I should of studied my grammar before starting a blog.

This is correct: I should have studied my grammar before starting a blog.

Misuse of Apostrophes.
(i) Apostrophes are used to show possession. Incorrect: Ben borrowed Jakes new tractor last week.
Correct usage: Ben borrowed Jake’s new tractor last week.
(ii) Apostrophes are used in contractions. I have seen many instances of apostrophe misuse in contractions, not only in blog articles, but also on numerous forums. A good example is the contraction “don’t”, which is a contraction of the phrase “do not”. Incorrect: Some Internet posters dont know how to use apostrophes correctly. Some Internet posters do’nt know how to use apostrophes correctly.
Correct usage: Some Internet posters don’t know how to use apostrophes correctly.

To Loose or to Lose, that is the choice..
Bloggers and forum posters often get these two words mixed up and misuse them in sentences. I find it rather annoying. Incorrect: If you use incorrect grammar, you risk loosing what blog readers you have.
Correct usage: If you use incorrect grammar, you risk losing what blog readers you have. Incorrect: You should have a dentist crown your damaged molar before you loose it.

Correct: You should have a dentist crown your damaged molar before you lose it.
