Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) – What does it mean for bloggers like yourself?
Google is always searching for newer and better ways to analyze webpages, including blog articles. One of the latest is known as Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI). Since Google’s updates impact us all, I believe that all sitemasters, including bloggers, need to stay abreast of the latest developments that impact our blogs and our readers.
Latent semantic indexing compares the content of each page in a website to the other pages in the site to determine the overall theme of the site. LSI scans the pages of a site to determine whether it contains fresh, relevant, and good content.
What this means to bloggers is that freshness and content quality are becoming more and more critical with respect to moving up in the search rankings. There will be less emphasis on backlinks, but more emphasis on fresh quality content. This will ensure that searchers will be able to find websites they are looking for based on relevant keywords and fresh, quality content, with less emphasis on incoming links, providing the user with higher quality, more relevant results.
If you strive to bring quality content to your readers, you can be sure you will move up in the rankings in the next few Google updates. You will find that your useful and quality content will not only win you more enthusiastic readers, but you will also be rewarded with more Google juice for all your hard work and research.
