Why do you blog? Why do you read other blogs?

There are at least 75 Million blogs in the greater blogosphere.

Why on earth do we all blog? And, Why do we all read each other’s blogs? That is a LOT of reading.
My answer to those questions is that I am a learner. I am always reading, and I am always learning. By reading other blogs, I learn more and more. I get treated to other bloggers’ magnificent writing styles, and I make new friends, but most of all, I find that I’m learning more all the time.

I learn to increase my mad bloggin’ skillset. I learn to be a better writer. I learn to increase the amount of money I make from my blog. I learn to be a better writer so I can score high paying writing gigs. I can go on and on and on.

When I blog, I put those new skills into action and enter into multi-modal learning. That is, I read blogs and learn more, then I blog about what I have learned and my actions become an exercise in multiple modalities of learning. By writing out my new ideas in my blog, I reinforce my new skills. When I read my own blog I am once again reinforcing my new skills.

Since we are now approximately a month from Christmas, I am in the gift-giving spirit. All bloggers should be in the gift-giving spirit this time of year. The writings in my blog are my gift to you.

In my travels throughout the blogosphere today, I discovered another magnificent gift that I will give to you, my loyal readers. I discovered a timeless entry in a blog late this afternoon that says it all about why I blog and about why I read blogs. I have 100 percent confidence that I will reach all the goals that are set out in this particular blog entry.
This is Christopher Westra’s blog, Light Workers. The entry in his blog that I will share with you can be seen on this page of his blog: What People Want. These are what Christopher calls his List of Sixteen Ultimate Benefits:
