Do you consider the journey you are taking your readers on?
Are you cheating yourself and your fine blog by the way that you construct links? I know that bloggers construct links in at least two different ways. You should consider constructing the links to the other pages of your blog and to pages on other blogs in a way which will be the most beneficial to you and your readers.
Since there are so many first-class bloggers out there, I picked three blogs, put all of the posts from the three blogs into a really oversized hat, shook it a few times, and picked three posts. The posts I picked are pretty interesting. I’ll use them to illustrate my point about linking to blog pages.
Suppose you were to write up a blog post and link out to these three blog pages here, here and here.
The blog posts I picked are related to improving your blog and getting more traffic. But when you link to the posts in the way I did above, your readers won’t know what they are clicking on unless they click on them. Another VERY IMPORTANT consideration, is that the search engines won’t pick up on this type of link very well, because the word here is not exactly a top keyword.
If you were to present these links the way I have below, you would be leveraging the work of the bloggers who constructed those titles in the first place, as well as leveraging the power of almighty Google and the other various search engines.
If you are interested in getting backlinks and increasing the number of visitors to your blog, Skelliewag explains how to find new readers in forums, Darren Rowse gives useful tips for using BlogRush to generate traffic for your blog, and Brian Clark shows you how to attract links and increase web traffic. Be forewarned: Brian’s post is packed with useful resources that will take you some time to read through. All of these blogs are chock-full of useful tips for bloggers.
The advantage of presenting the links the way I did in the paragraph above is that when search engines search for those pages, they will also display your page in the search results. You are effectively leveraging the SEO skills of the three bloggers above to bring traffic through the search engines to your blog! By taking the time to construct your links in this way as well as to build a paragraph for them allows you to draw more traffic to your educational blog time after time after time!
Another conclusion that you can take away from this post is that skillful bloggers who construct titles with major keywords in them as well as writing helpful articles can expect a lot of backlinks, as well as a geometric increase in traffic due to the inherent leveraging of the efforts of fine bloggers such as myself.
