1) Pick the right spot – Over the years most website visitors have been subconsciously trained to read down the middle of a page and to avoid the sides as this is usually where advertisments hang out. For this reason you will want to weave your Google Adsense into the middle of your page smack in the center of your content, but without making it seem this way.
2) Use the right ad formats – Once you get set-up with your Adsense account you will notice they have many different ad formats for you to choose from. Most people will start out using the Leaderboard (728×90) or Wide Skyscrapper (160×600) and the majority of these people end up quitting before they see their first check. The general agreement amongst those making good money with Google Adsense is that the Large Rectangle (336×280) is the format that yields the most clicks.
3) Ads with no borders – For one reason or another most successful Adsense users report a sharp increase in their click through after removing the borders from their ads. Of course by now we know the reason this works is because it makes your Adsense ads seem more natural and less like a an actual advertisment.
4) Mimic your fonts – This is too many webmaster are missing out on and loosing a lot of potential income over. But it is not easy to see that if your adsense and your websites content are totally different fonts that it will make the ads stick out and chances are they will not even be read.
5)Â Match the text colors – It doesn’t make much sense to change the font of your Adsense ads to match your website’s text and not make sure the text is all the same color.
6) Keep the distractions down – While the main point of any website is to entertain or inform visitors, sometimes if you put too much on one page it will over indulge your visitors and give them too many options. If you only have a few links on your site to help visitors navigate around plus your adsense links then it creates about an equal mix of links between those that will keep the visitor at your site and those that will make you money. Every other link you have on your site is one other option for your visitor to not click on an ad.
Now all you need to do is impliment these six simple strategies into your Adsense and you will see a dramatic increase in your click through ratio. As your expand your pages and ad more and more content your Adsense income will just keep on growing.
