3 Reasons Google Remains As My Homepage

I see it more peoples’ home page than ever before. Let’s briefly look at why.

I know. More of the obvious right? Well, in case you don’t know or have never thought about it, here goes…and some MBA insight as well…

3 Reasons to Make Google Home

Reason #1 – Their Page…

Loads the Fastest of Any Other Page!

Do you think they did this by accident? Before computers had the memory and processing power like they do today, one of the reasons why I and many others made Google the homepage was, because it loaded the quickest, and I was sick and tired of slow loading web pages!

This built instant credibility and trust, and made people love it from the start…a great first impression and an awesome Biz strategy by the way…do it right the first time! Spend the time, and don’t release until it’s ready. I think even Microsoft could learn something here.

Finally, for this point, something that back then and even today still loads in the blink of an eye (see reason 3)makes Google tops, a small but important detail! So I bet it’s one of their core Biz strategies to be the fastest loading page on earth. Smart move Google!

Reason #2 – Their Primary Focus is Specialized, So They’ll Always Be Best!

While others over-differentiate, or focus on too much of everything rather than remain core and specialized to what the do best, Google differentiates to only the 20% level, at least it seems like it, and the other 80% is still focused on what they are best known for and always will be if they keep it up…search engine results and above all, the bottom line: getting people the top quality information that they need and are searching for.

Google is the best at what it does as a search engine. I’ve tried other search engines and Google beats them because their algorithm must be better. I’m sure that their algorithm is probably more secure than the richest bank’s vault in Switzerland, Luxembourg or Lichtenstein.

I think it’s another one of their core Biz secrets, how they stay 80% or more on what hey do best, but it’s obvious…what else pops up at you when you g to their homepage? A search engine box – in your face! Nice…

Reason #3 – They Won’t Change Because They Work, and “If It Ain’t Broke…”

There’s too much change in the world today and I’m actually quite sick of it. Aren’t you? Many of you are too, right? Google has the same interface and search engine look ever since I can remember. It’s simple, effective and great. It does the job.

I’d say that out of 100 times that I look for something that only 1 time will I not find what I’m looking for in the first page or two. Sometimes that’s even because I don’t use the right search methods and techniques.

Google is still the King of Search, in my book, and everyone I know uses Google and loves it, and I’m sure you agree…and I have never heard anyone complain about Google either. Now you know why I don’t think that will change.

One more thing, sites like Yahoo and others probably won’t listen to this, or they’ll realize they can’t win and just join…my only concern when Ask Jeeves, Yahoo, MSN and even Dogpile realize this. But what will happen if and when Google becomes a total monopoly? They’re almost there now
