Finding Value In Low Traffic Terms:
You have probably heard the expression “Quality, not Quantity”. Well I am going to show you how to utilize both quantity and quality to your best advantage when selecting keywords for your website.

Most inexperienced webmasters go for the high traffic terms in their industry and 99% of the time fail. If you only learn one thing out of this tutorial it should be this – the BIG money is in the low traffic terms that are highly targeted to what you are selling.

Top 10 positions are obtained relatively easily for low traffic terms. If you take 100 targeted terms that bring in 30 hits a month each and have a 5% conversion rate because they are targeted, that is 150 sales for one month, which is not too bad. Now if you work twice as hard and are blessed enough for a top 10 position with a high traffic term you might get a 1% conversion rate because the term is usually very broad. High traffic terms are usually very volatile meaning a slight change in the way search engines rank your website might change your ranking significantly. Say you can get 15,000 hits a month from this term at 1% conversion rate, that is still 150 sales. You just worked twice as hard for that high traffic term and you don’t even have the peace of mind that will remain in the top 10 for the long run and to top it off, you don’t even have more sales. Always remember that the money is in the low traffic targeted terms. Don’t bet the farm on a few high traffic terms because you have very likely to get burned in the long run.
